Privacy notice

Last updated: 3 August 2026

What this covers

This notice explains what happens to information you give us through this website. It does not replace the separate privacy and consent notices we provide to clients before we prepare or disclose anything relating to a tax return.

What we collect

  • What you type into the contact form: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the service you selected and your message.
  • Basic technical information: our hosting provider records standard web server logs, including the IP address the request came from, and we record the IP address attached to a contact form submission to help identify spam.

We ask you not to send Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, statements or other sensitive documents through the contact form. Use the secure upload page instead, or bring them to the office.

Why we use it

Solely to respond to your enquiry and to correspond with you about the services you asked about. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who can see it

Contact form messages are delivered to our office email and are readable by the people at Blustone who handle enquiries. Our email and website hosting providers process the message in transit as part of delivering it. We disclose information beyond that only where the law requires it.

Third-party services we link to

Some things on this website hand you over to a separate company, each with its own privacy terms:

  • Appointment booking is handled by Google Calendar.
  • Secure document upload is our own system on this website. Files are stored outside the public web folder and are not passed to a third-party storage provider.
  • Online payment is handled by PayPal. We never see or store your full card details.
  • The client portal is our own system, hosted separately from this website.

Once you follow one of those links, that company's privacy notice governs what happens next, not this one.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become engagements are kept only as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a record of correspondence. Client records are retained under the separate retention terms in your engagement letter and under applicable tax record requirements.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other websites. Standard server logs are kept by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics.

Your choices

You can ask us what enquiry information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing docs@blutaxprep.com. Some records must be retained where tax or other law requires it.

Security

We maintain safeguards designed to protect the information in our care. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, which is exactly why we ask you to use the secure upload page rather than email for sensitive documents.

Changes

If this notice changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
